English racer Oliver Turvey will make his Formula E debut this weekend at the London ePrix in Battersea Park.
I caught up with him this morning to discuss his expectations for the weekend – one in which his team mate and championship leader, Nelson Piquet Jr, could clinch the title.
“I’m very excited to be racing in Formula E for China Racing NEXTEV. I’ve not been in the car yet and obviously coming in for the last round when everyone else has had a full season is tricky. But its great to be racing in London – its where I live and it’s my home race, and to race here in central London is an amazing experience.”
“Nelson is challenging for the championship and has a successful season, so hopefully I can learn from him as quickly as possible and be up there with him to score as many possible points for the team.”
“I’d love to race in Formula E next year as well. There’s an opportunity to fit it into my schedule, so we’ll have to see how this weekend goes and then look to next year.”
